December is the month of price cuts and Verizon decided to join the bandwagon. The HTC 8X, previously retailing for $149, is now officially available for just $99 at Verizon.
At the beginning of December, Verizon started retailing the smartphone for $199 on a 2-year contract and shortly after, had dropped the price to $149. Throwing in a $50 online discount, the premium phone can now be purchased for $99 at Verizon.
Verizon did not say how long the deal will last. If HTC 8X is the phone you want to own, better head over to Verizon Online Store fast before stock runs out.
HTC 8X sports 4.3-inch LCD2 Gorilla Glass display with 1280 X 720 pixels resolution and a 341ppi density. The device runs on Qualcomm's dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz and packs 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
The new Windows Phone 8 device sports 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash that can shoot full HD 1080p videos at a frame rate of 30fps. There is also a front-facing 2-megapixel camera in the device that is also capable of recording videos at 1920 X 1080 pixels resolution.
The 8X comes GSM unlocked out of the box, which means buyers can roam on any other network including support for AT&T's HSDPA network and LTE support. Built-in wireless charging comes embedded on the rear cover of the phone.
In case consumers are looking at more bargains, they may be able to save more if they purchase the smartphone from third-party retailers. Amazon is offering the phone for $49.99. However, the offer is valid for new customers only. Best Buy lists the HTC 8X at $49.99, and the price is for both new customer and existing customer (upgrades).
