Users of iPhone 5 and other Apple devices running on iOS 6 have been waiting for an untethered jailbreak for quite a long time.
So far, the people who want to enjoy unlimited access to amazing apps available in the Cydia store were disappointed as none of the members of the two Dev teams succeeded in finding the 'crack code' of the iOS 6.
If recent developments are something to go by, search of an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 is going to gain speed with the return of Chronic Dev Team's key member Pod2g.
Pod2g played a very big role in finding the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 and also the devices running on Apple's A-4 processor like iPhone 4.
The hacker was not seen at the iOS 6 jailbreak operation and he mentioned his engagement with some 'development project' as the reason.
As far as the 'development project' is concerned, Pod2g is done with it and seems ready to take up the jailbreak task.
"You reader certainly know that I have not been really present in the security field since a few months now. The reason of this was the creation of my company, 2G Lab, focusing on 2 different areas: development and security research," Pod2g declared on his blog.
The next part of the statement is what people were waiting for a long time. In his statement Pod2g suggests that he will now be able to focus on the second area of focus of his company - security research.
"Now that our first application, named podDJ is out to the AppStore, we will focus on both subjects. If you have a project that you would like 2G Lab to work on, contact us: contact at 2g-lab dot com," he added.
Pod2g released podDJ ot the AppStore and the app is available for $8.
So far, Planetbeing of the iPhone Dev Team has been working on finding an exploit in the iOS 6. The hacker also got some success in his job, but the untethered jailbreak is still not available for the users.
Planetbeing had disclosed last week that he has found an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.0.2 and it is running in his iPhone 5. "Yeah, I'm not really sure what all the doom and gloom is about. The fact is, I have an untethered iOS 6.0.2 JB running on my iPhone 5 right now," he said in his post.
