Last week we were given a peek into the alleged HTC M7, thanks to tipster @evleaks. Now, the grapevine is abuzz again - the HTC M7 has popped up again, but this time the design seems better.
The leaked render is courtesy PocketNow, who were tipped off and assert that the leaked HTC M7 image is the real deal.
"We've been tipped with the image above and our tipster (thanks, SA) is convinced that this is indeed the real deal. While the date on Sense is January 15 (maybe the date the render was made, exported, designed, etc.) the location, Barcelona, seems spot-on for an MWC unveiling," reported PocketNow.
Even though the leaked render is said to be legit, the back of the device, per the report, is not the final one and likely a mock-up.
"We're also being told that while the front of the device looks legit, the back is not. Those who rendered the phone used the Windows Phone 8X as a starting point, lacking information regarding the looks of the real M7′s back, hence the back is just a mock-up; nothing to see there," noted the report.
The site's sources also confirm that HTC has chosen to bypass the edge-to-edge screen and keep the capacitive buttons. What's more, the company has also apparently swapped the order of the buttons, and now the home button will be on the far right.
The leaked render first appeared on Polish Web site Czujnym Okiem, who spotted it on Twitter. There are conflicting views regarding the authenticity of the image and some believe that it is a fan mock-up and not the real deal.
However, HTCSource also cites "two trusted sources" who have confirmed that the render is "an accurate description of the HTC M7."
The HTC M7 is rumored to sport a 4.7-inch 1080p display, a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, HTC Sense UI 5.0, a 2,300mAh battery, and 2GB of RAM.
The HTC M7, believed to be HTC's 2013 flagship phone, is speculated to be unveiled at the MWC 2013 in February.
