Taiwan-based HTC has been making the headlines thanks to its impending HTC M7 smartphone, leaked images of which have been spotted online quite frequently. Now per reports, HTC is set to release yet another Android-powered smartphone called the HTC au Infobar A02.
The HTC au Infobar A02 smartphone is set to make its way to Japanese carrier KDDI and will hit the shelves by mid-February.
The au Infobar A02 smartphone from HTC sports a 4.7-inch CG Silicon TFT 720p display. The handset is both waterproof (IPX 5 and IPX 7) and dust resistant. What's more, unlike the water- and dust-proof Sony Xperia Z, which does not pack in infrared, HTC's Japanese offering has IR capabilities. The au Infobar A02 is just 9.7mm thick and weighs 147gms.
The NFC-enabled HTC smartphone houses a powerful 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 processor. The HTC au Infobar A02 also has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2.1-megapixel secondary camera, 1GB of RAM, HTC ImageSense, 16GB of on-board storage with microSD support, and a 2100mAh battery.
The smartphone also offers LTE, CDMA2000, and WDCMA support. The phone will come pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with iida UI 2.0 interface on top.
The HTC au Infobar A02 will retail in three avatars: Nishikigoi (red), ICE Gray (gray), and Aoao (blue). HTC is yet to reveal the pricing details, but the smartphone will hit Japanese shelves by mid-February and will be available on carrier KDDI.
