Some good news is here for all Samsung Galaxy S Advance users.
Per reports, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S Advance is expected to arrive later this month, Feb. 18 to be precise.
The device has been in contention to get the current generation Jelly Bean update after the refresh already reached Russia in the first week of January this year. The update was also expected to arrive in other parts of the country soon, but there’s still nothing much heard about it as of now.
“All we know about the Jelly Bean update in Galaxy S Advance is that some tentative timeframes are revealed by the company. Samsung Ukraine published a post recently showing some tentative dates for when the Jelly Bean update would roll out outside Russia,” PC Tablet states.
Apparently, Samsung Galaxy S Advance was also in that list with an uncertain release date of Feb. 18, 2013 for the Jelly Bean update. While the date is still in doubts, it’s at least confirmed that the device will get the Jelly Bean update for sure, maybe sometime in the near future.
As far as the update is concerned, users of Galaxy S Advance, with the inclusion of Jelly Bean, can expect an increase in performance and smoothness due to the arrival of Project Butter. For those who are still uncertain about the Project Butter, it is the set of tweaks that make Jelly Bean the fastest Android OS iteration ever to be released by Google
Other features include Google Now, the new TouchWiz Nature user interface with which users are already familiar, thanks to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2, alongside a handful of other TouchWiz-related apps and features.
Apart from the Galaxy S Advance, the Samsung Ukraine has also posted a few other Jelly Bean tentative release dates for various other devices. These include the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 set to get the Android Jelly Bean refresh on April 22, Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 set for March 3, Galaxy Note GT-N7000 set for March 1, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus GT-P6200 set for Feb. 22, and Galaxy Tab 8.9 GT-P7300 (which was supposed to get Ice Cream Sandwich set for Jan. 24).
