Whether you have someone special to call your Valentine today or are looking to find somebody new, these apps will certainly help you on your quest and even offer some very cool features along the way.
Flikdate is the world's first real-time video dating app. It allows you to go on a live date, anytime, anywhere, from the comfort of your smartphone. The app was designed to make meeting someone fast, easy and face-to-face in a secure way. Flikdate claims that signing up for the service will take less than a minute, and users will be able to immediately begin a face-to-face interaction with a potential date. You will be able to see other Flikdate users in real time, and once you begin your date you'll have 90 seconds to get to know someone and decide if both of you want to take it to the next level.
The application was also designed with personal safety in mind — the person you are fliking with will never see your name, phone number or location, and if anyone acts inappropriately the user can be banned from the service indefinitely with a tap of Flikdate's "Perv Alert Button." Flikdate is free and available in the iTunes App Store and Google Play. More information can be found on Flikdate.com.
Sonar is an app that allows you to find and connect with like-minded people nearby using your smartphone's built-in GPS. The app will alert you when there are friends and like-minded people nearby. Some of Sonar's unique features allow you to connect your social networks to locate friends. It completely integrates with Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and FourSquare. Sonar allows you to find out what you have in common with people nearby and chat with other Sonar users. Sonar is free and available in the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
HowAboutWe is an app that takes online dating offline by allowing you to say "How about we..." and post the kind of dates you want to go on in the real world. You'll be able to find other people who are looking for the same kind of date you are, speak to them online and plan to get offline and go on a real date. HowAboutWe differentiates itself from other online dating apps by focusing on planning an actual date instead of wasting time going back and forth messaging with someone. By entering the kind of date you're looking for, you'll find people who like similar activities and since the date is already planned you'll be out on that date in record time. HowAboutWe is free and available in the iTunes App Store. Android and iPad-specific apps are coming very soon.
Bang With Friends is a Facebook app that lets you select Facebook friends to "bang." Bang With Friends will show you which of your Facebook friends are also using the app and looking for the same thing you are. The app is discrete, so don't worry, nothing will appear in your newsfeed or profile, so your grandmother (if she uses Facebook) won't see that you're looking to Bang With Friends. Once both parties express interest, the site will send an email letting you know another person is interested in what you're looking for, and you'll have to take the next step in actually connecting with that consenting person.
KillSwitch is another app that ties into Facebook, and it's a very clever app. KillSwitch is for anyone who is fresh out of a break-up and looking to move on — and when you move on, it will erase your relationship from Facebook. When you thought that person was the love of your life, you probably posted pictures of him or her, status updates and messages on Facebook. Now, why should you have to be reminded that he or she wasn't, in fact, the "one"? KillSwitch works by discreetly finding the person among the list of your Facebook friends, and it then wipes out all traces of any photo, status update and post connected to that person. All images of the person will be put into a hidden album that only you can access in case you change your mind. KillSwitch costs $0.99 and will be available today in Google Play; an iOS version of the app will be released very soon.
