As we're getting closer to the rumored March 14 event for the anticipated unveiling of the Galaxy S4 by Samsung, we're starting to see more juicy details leak about the upcoming flagship smartphone. Picture samples have appeared online taken with the Samsung Galaxy S4's camera. The details confirm that Samsung includes a 13-megapixel camera in the Galaxy S4.
The pictures were leaked by a user's Google+ account, and the uploader has already removed the photos, but androsym was able to take screenshots of the pictures to prove what it had uncovered. The site points out that Samsung is most likely using a Sony Exmor RS camera sensor. It comes to this conclusion because Samsung has been using Sony sensors in all its flagship smartphones and Sony is the only popular camera manufacturer that makes 1/3-inch sensors.
It is also the same sensor used in both Sony's flagship Xperia Z and HTC One, which also have the same 4mm focal length as evidenced by the screenshots taken. If Samsung does indeed use the Sony Exmor RS in the Samsung Galaxy S4, users can expect it to have features like HDR video recording, improved low light image quality and a 10fps burst rate.
Sammobile has also revealed that a spokesman for the Galaxy S4 development team said the upcoming smartphone might come with a brand new camera feature created by Samsung, called Samsung Orb, that will allow users to make 360-degree panorama photos.
The new software is described by the Samsung spokesman as having "an almost three-dimensional viewing experience, and even better than Photo Sphere, courtesy of the S4's amazing camera." The Samsung Orb will also have the all-important easy share buttons, allowing users to share photos on Facebook and Twitter.
All of these rumors, if true, point the Samsung Galaxy S4 to being one very impressive smartphone that is sure to be Samsung's biggest hit.
