When the Google I/O 2013 concluded last week in San Francisco, many Android users were disappointed that the search giant didn't say anything about the next version of Android in the entire three-day conference.
However, there was something about the next version of Android, but only in hints.
Android Authority's Derek Ross has successfully decoded the hints given by Google during Google I/O's "Android Protips 3: Making Apps Work Like Magic" presentation by Reto Meier.
During the presentation, the animation showed the very famous Android mascot eating Key Lime Pie. The Android mascot with a magician's hat was shown sitting on a garden bench with a girl.
It was just a non-verbal hint thrown at the developers present in the hall but a verbal hint was also given a few minutes later in a video game clip. The name Key Lime Pie appeared in the small video game clip with other names like Chrome, Jelly Bean, Flamingo, Bahamut and Giga-Stan.
Google has not yet disclosed anything about the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie or Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but earlier rumors suggest that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will be rolled out next month with the arrival of a white Nexus 4 smartphone.
However, the mention of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie has been found in some of the benchmark tests of Samsung and Nexus devices.
Recently, one of the most rumored smartphone - the Google-Motorola X phone - was found running Android 5.0.1 Key Lime Pie in an AnTuTu benchmark test.
According to GSM Insider, the device was undergoing tests in the U.S. According to the benchmark, the Google X device packs a processor clocked at up to 1.5GHz. The processor could be Snapdragon 600, Snapdragon 800 or Tegra 4.
The Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, reportedly, will not support the devices running on dual-core and single-core processors.
