Samsung is reportedly busy testing an official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build for the Galaxy Note 2, which means the update should arrive shortly.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 launched back in September 2012 as the successor to the hugely-popular Galaxy Note. The second-generation Galaxy Note phablet launched with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board, but now it seems that it's ready to make a jump to the latest Android 4.3.
Samsung has not officially confirmed this, but the company is reportedly testing the Android 4.3 build for the Galaxy Note 2, according to a new tweet from SamMobile. The publication claims that Samsung has commenced its testing process on Wednesday, Sept. 25, which suggests that the actual Android 4.3 update will likely roll out to the Galaxy Note 2 sometime next month.
In a brief update to the original report, however, SamMobile notes that it expected the update to roll out a bit later, in November or even December. The publication gives no reason for the expected delay.
Samsung has launched its latest Galaxy Note 3 phablet recently, which comes as the successor to the Galaxy Note 2. The new-generation Galaxy Note comes with the latest Android 4.3 out of the box.
Although it is no longer the latest Galaxy Note phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 still sports powerful specs and features and has attracted plenty of fans worldwide. The phablet proved to be an even greater success than its predecessor and proved once again that super-sized smartphones are welcomed and appreciated.
With the upcoming update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will most likely attract even more customers, as not all Samsung fans will be able to afford the brand new Galaxy Note 3.
Meanwhile, other Samsung devices that are expected to receive an update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in October include the Galaxy S4 and last year's Galaxy S3 flagship.
Samsung has yet to provide an official rollout date for the update, however, so it remains unclear for now just when the aforementioned Galaxy devices will get the latest flavor of Jelly Bean. Google has also announced Android 4.4 KitKat in the meantime, but did not mention when the new OS will launch.
