The Verizon Moto Maker-customizable Moto X is now down to $49.99, as part of a new limited-time offer set to expire on Nov. 18.
Moto Maker is the service through which Motorola allows customers to design their own Moto X, choosing between more than 2,000 possible combinations that involve colors, storage, custom engravings and more. When the Moto X first launched, its Moto Maker customization tool was exclusive to AT&T.
Motorola just recently released Moto Maker to all major U.S. carriers, including Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.
The Moto X has been one of the most anticipated smartphones of this year and it comes with some neat features and functionality. Its initial price tag, however, was inexplicably high considering that the Moto X has mid-range specs, yet it retailed for just as much as high-end flagship smartphones.
For those unfamiliar with the device, the Moto X sports a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The handset packs a dual-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, a 10-megapixel ClearPixel camera with LED flash, auto focus, HDR, face detection and Panorama. The Moto X ships with Android 4.2.2 out of the box, but Motorola promised to update it to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat.
Motorola eventually cut the price of the smartphone to $99.99 on-contract, in an attempt to boost sales and appeal to more customers.
Verizon Wireless has now applied its own price cuts to the Moto X and is now selling the smartphone for just $49.99 with a two-year contract. Interested customers might want to hurry up if they want to take advantage of this deal, however, as this is a limited-time offer.
The deal does not require a special discount code or other such tricks. To purchase the Verizon Moto Maker customizable Moto X just head over to Verizon's product page for the smartphone or order it directly via Moto Maker. The price cut will be automatically applied to your order at checkout.
If you want to get a customized Moto X for just $49.99 from Verizon, keep in mind that the offer expires on Nov. 18.
