GoPro Hero 5 Alternatives That Might Be Better Than The Camera Itself
C. de LacyThe wait for the GoPro Hero 5 is still at an all-time high with more leaks being revealed almost every other day. Some consumers might be getting bored of waiting and are also looking for an alternative for a better price. The following action cameras might be good choices.
Not exactly similar to GoPro Hero 5's square camera form, the Polaroid XS100 HD almost has the same wide viewing angle of the former GoPro 3 Black with a span of 170 degrees. It also has 1080p recording.
The small camera fits to almost any third party mounts so consumers wouldn't have any trouble using it with any particular use.
The battery life is what makes the Polaroid XS100 HD stand out with almost twice the capacity of a normal GoPro Hero camera.
Only priced at $129.99 on Amazon, the Polaroid XS100 HD is a very nice 16 MP alternative for the GoPro Hero 5.
Sony has been in the video recording industry longer than the GoPro did. Some consumers still want to stick with the brand that they have known longer and fortunately, the Sony HDR-AS20/B entered the GoPro alternative market.
Featuring the same 4k capability that GoPro Hero 4 has and possibly, GoPro Hero 5, the Sony HDR-AS20/B is a no slouch when it comes to quality recording.
Slowmotion videos at 1080p are possible in this camera and supports 64GB storage.
However, due to the form factor, the Sony HDR-AS20/B isn't as great as the other alternatives in terms of being a hands-free action camera due to its form factor.
Only priced at $138.99 on Amazon, the Sony HDR-AS20/B is also a great alternative for GoPro Hero 5, especially those who are on a limited budget, but doesn't want to buy no-name brand cameras.
FullTime Outdoors Adventure Camera
Possibly the best alternative among the three indicated here, FullTime Outdoors Adventure Camera has a very nice form factor that is strikingly similar with the GoPro Hero line, has 4K Ultra HD, Wi-Fi Remote, and wide lens.
FullTime Outdoors Adventure Camera also has the slowmotion capability for 1080p of 60 fps and even more so with 720p at 120 fps.
This camera is extremely feature packed that it can even be on par in terms of specs with the upcoming GoPro Hero 5. The great thing about it is that it has a very nice price tag of $119 right now.
