A full version of Windows 10, Microsoft's latest operating system, with desktop app support to its ARM chipsets, is being offered on the table; the company recently demonstrated Windows 10 running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip --- complete with HD video playback, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Photoshop support. Microsoft is looking forward to making the new Windows 10 adopted first on ARM-based laptops and to make the experience whole for an end-user, Traditional x86 desktop apps will be imitated as well.

Microsoft surprisingly released Continuum for phones just last year, a Windows 10 feature that makes phones into PCs. It uses Qualcomm chipsets and Window's 10 global apps, which scales the mobile screen up to the monitor and includes features that make end-users feel they are still using PCs; however, it doesn't include the mostly used desktop apps. Transforming a phone into a PC is not new to the industry. Once, American multinational telecommunications company Motorola experimented it with the Atrix; while United Kingdom-based private computer software company Canonical experimented on Ubuntu phones.

But since Microsoft is the biggest and the most dominant when it comes PCs, it is more likely to pull this advancement off. The company is also ready to support ARM processes for devices with large, small, and even without screens at all; however, Microsoft is not giving any precise mobile plans for Continuum with desktop apps yet. That being said, the company just needs to have a good mobile phone with apps and a lively environment. Turning a phone into a PC is an excellent technology advancement, but it will be useless if desktop apps do not function well as these should be.

Although Microsoft has spent most of 2016 winning on PCs, but losing on mobile phones --- it still pushed for the completion and success of this project. Indeed, the company has invested and is still willing to invest more time and effort for its ARM plans, according to The Verge.
