Facebook's Oculus Acquires Eye-Tracking Software Startup - The Eye Tribe

Oculus is a virtual reality company owned by Facebook. Oculus builds VR eye gear for gamers to experience Virtual Reality in open world games. The recently released VR gear by Oculus was the Oculus Rift VR.
Oculus Acquires Eye-tracking Software Making Startup
Famous, eye-tracking software start-up, the Eye Tribe is just a 16-member company that started pursuing its ambition to make the eye-tracking technology accessible to everyone in the year 2007. It is notable that Oculus, the virtual reality company was itself acquired for $2billion in the year 2014 by Facebook, as reported by Indian Express. Oculus has not yet shared any details on how it is planning to put Eye Tribe's eye-tracking technology to use. However, it is evident that the company is working towards integrating the eye-tracking technology into its Oculus Rift VR headset. This will allow users to take control of their gaming actions in VR by moving their eyes.
The Eye Tribe Software Announcement
The Eye Tribe made an announcement about its eye-tracking solution that is compatible with multiple platforms of VR applications during the CES event 2016. The company launched the eye-tracking technology for all VR platforms including the Windows and Android platforms. It allows the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to integrate the eye-tracking software into their VR headsets, as reported by Business Insider.
Parties and Rooms Feature in VR
Oculus recently added two new features named "Parties and Rooms" for Samsung's Gear VR. The "Parties and Rooms" feature will be added to Oculus Rift in 2017. The feature will allow every user in a room to feel the dame sense of VR. People can find their friends who are on VR via Facebook and Oculus accounts. Also, friends can be searched using their real names or Oculus names.
