Dell Unwraps Impressive 27-Inch Ultrathin Monitor With HDR Support; Claimed As The World’s Overall Thinnest Monitor Ever Seen! [VIDEO]
Portia Mae M. CansancioDell has debuted its Ultrathin 27-inch monitor, which the company claimed as the World's overall thinnest monitor. Rather than having most of its hardware located behind the screen, Dell moved it down to the base --- making the monitor almost likely an all-in-one machine at a first glance.
Windows Central reported that Dell refused to give a report regarding to Dell 27's actual dimensions but indeed it is incredibly thin. The Dell 27 absolutely looks smaller than it really is since it uses the same InfinityEdge thin bezel technology as XPS notebooks and the new XPS 13 2-in-1. As it appears to be having the thinnest bezels on any monitor as far as people have seen, it's extremely near to reaching the dream of a monitor without bezels.
The 27-inch Quad HD screen also supports HDR10 --- though it's not a 4k display, it still goes beyond 1080p, given that its 2,560 by 1,440 pixels. It gives more vibrant and vivid colors from content that supports high dynamic range.
Furthermore, The Dell 27 offers up 400 nits of brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 6 milliseconds response time. Dell says that it will support higher contrast and color range compared to the most consumer monitors --- up to 99% of the SRGB gamut. It also enables users to adjust its angle with the help of the screens pivoting stand --- note that it supports a 178-degree viewing angle as well, according to DIGITAL TRENDS.
Moreover, the Dell 27 monitor includes USB-C connectivity for data, power, and video packed in one cable and a connectivity hub at the rear of the stand to make things neat. According to reports, the Ultrathin Dell 27 monitor will be available for purchase on March 23rd for $700 in the United States.
