Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Games No Longer Available On PSN Store, Xbox & Steam
Arianne GiftMultiple "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" games have suffered the same fate as the "The Amazing Spider-Man," as the Platinum-developed games have been delisted from the PlayStation Store recently. The Xbox Live Marketplace and Steam have also followed suit, likely due to expired licenses.
All included in the December 2016 Holiday Sale, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan" for PS4 and PS3 has been removed from the digital stores. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze," both for PS3, are no longer available as well in North America and Europe.
While the delisting of all three Turtles games caused a stir, the most surprising removal of all is "TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan," as it came out less than a year ago, specifically in May 2016. Additionally, "Fast & Furious: Showdown" for PS3 was taken off of the PSN Store.
The only way to get these games from here on out will be the physical copies, or if you have previously downloaded any of these games, you can download them again from your Download List. According to Eurogamer, Activision has made no announcement or statement regarding the game recent game removals.
In other news, plenty of comic book-based games have been plagued with licensing issues. TechnoBuffalo reported that, by far, the largest victim of all is "Marvel vs. Capcom 2," which happens to be one of the best fighting games of all time. The game no longer has a license to be distributed by Capcom.
Going back to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" games, the most significant loss yet is a port of the original arcade game removed from Xbox Live Arcade. The remake of the Super Nintendo classic, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled" is also now a goner.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan" was well received by fans, likely due to its developer, Platinum Games. Platinum's previous megahit was "Transformers Devastation," which, unfortunately, the TMNT games did not live up to.
