Nvidia has revealed in the Las Vegas CES 2017 that it will be expanding its game streaming services, the Nvidia GeForce Now, to Apple's Macbok and iMac allowing users to play video games with their Apple laptop and computer. This announcement came as a welcome surprise to Apple iMac and Macbook owners as the laptop from Apple has never been known for its gaming capability.

The Nvidia GeForce Now is a game streaming service which was launched by Nvidia a couple of years back. The game streaming service initially catered to Nvidia android tablets then was expanded to the company's set-top box just last year. At the Las Vegas CES 2017, Nvidia allowed users to play video games using the Nvidia GeForce Now game streaming services with an Apple Macbook Air and Apple iMac.

The highly detailed Witcher 3 run perfectly without any issue on the iMac. Witcher 3 was played in the Apple iMac with an Ethernet connection. In the Apple Macbook Air, the video game Rise of the Tomb Raider loaded perfectly and was also played without any issue. These performance demoes for the Nvidia GeForce Now for Apple devices were considered impressive especially since the Apple Macbook Air and Apple iMac used for the demoes was not the recent models.

The Nvidia GeForce Now game streaming services makes use of a virtual PC powered by Pascal GPUs to allow users enjoy video games which requires more power than what users currently have with their PC or laptop. Nividia remains tightlipped as to the details of these virtual PCs as reps from the tech company merely said that the virtual PCs running the video games for the Nvidia GeForce Now is equivalent to a gaming PC worth $1,500.

The Nvidia GeForce Now for Apple devices is said to be launched in March. The pricing of the game streaming service is dependent on the kind of hardware to be used and the amount of time spent in playing. 25$ will give players 10 hours of playing time with a GTX 1080 powered virtual PC or 20 hours on a machine running on GTX 1060.
