Sony Announced The New PS4 Slim’s Glacier White Color Variant
Cris Xander JulianoThe PS 4 Slim may not be the most powerful among the PS4 units, but it will definitely have the coolest look of all. Sony just announced a glacier white color variant of the PS4 Slim with a matching Dualshock 4 analog controller, according to a report by The Verge.
The new PS4 Slim will be available as a 500GB model on Jan. 24, 2017 in Europe and Japan. In addition, the lucky gamers in Japan will also get the 1TB model. There is no announcement as of this moment regarding the availability of the new unit in the US and other countries, although white gaming consoles tend to sell very well in North America.
According to a report by Gadgets 360, Sony has not yet made any comments on the availability of the PS4 Slim and the PS4 Pro in India. The company might still be contemplating over the rate of 4K adoption in the country before announcing any official dates.
Other than the new color variant, there is no official news about any difference under its hood compared to the jet black hue counterpart. This might very well be a move by Sony to match the white color of the PS VR unit.
The PS4 Slim was released on Sept. 15, 2016. It is a variant of the PS4 with a smaller form factor, rounded body with a matte finish on the top of the unit instead of the two-tone finish. It's roughly 40% smaller than the original PS4.
The new PS4 Slim will be on sale in Europe for 299 Euros and in the UK for GBP 259.
