The well-known men's luxury accessories and goods brand, Montblanc, officially revealed that it will be joining the budding smartwatch market with its new Android Wear 2.0 device. The company officially launched its new Summit smartwatch this week during a big unveiling event.

The new Montblanc Summit is the latest luxury smartwatch offering to come out to the market, which already includes several other luxury brand devices. Montblanc will be joining other brands such as Fossil, Movado, Nixon, and Tag Heuer, who each have their own Android Wear luxury offerings.

The Montblanc Summit is shown to incorporate the same design as the company's classic 1858 collection, as per a report from CNET. Similar to the other luxury watchmaker brands, the new Montblanc Summit is made to look quite similar to its mechanical counterparts. Along with its look, the Montblanc Summit is built with high-end materials, such as titanium, sapphire and stainless steel.

It was also revealed that the Montblanc Summit smartwatch will be available in a variety of color and material combinations, including a matte black or brushed silver cover combined with either titanium or stainless steel. The strap variations are also quite extensive and include materials such as fabric, alligator skin, Florentine leather, black calf leather, and a laser-treated rubber material.

As for the specs, the Montblanc Summit comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, which is responsible for smoothly running the latest Android Wear 2.0 operating system. The display is a 1.39-inch AMOLED display, which can be configured to show seven of the company's unique watch faces. The entire thing is encased in a 46mm case, which is obviously perfect for men's wrists.

The device is powered by a 300 mAh battery, which Montblanc claims should last for an entire day. The Montblanc Summit will be rolled out in the UK and Europe in May, which will then be followed by a release to different Montblanc stores worldwide, starting with the United States.
