One of the most popular Microsoft games on the Xbox line of video game consoles appears to be making its way to the Xbox 720, Microsoft's next generation console, that is rumored for a late 2013 release. A Microsoft job posting that was posted on the company's Web site recently, revealed that Turn 10 Studios is in need of some new talent for its next game, and that game is the Forza Motorsport 5.
The job posting didn't clarify whether or not the next installment of Microsoft's popular and award winning racing simulator is indeed planned for the Xbox 720, but considering the Xbox 360 is on its final legs. Moreover, Forza Motorsport 4 only came out on the Xbox 360 a year ago, so it is highly unlikely the Xbox 720 won't be out long before Forza Motorsport 5 is ready for primetime.
The beginning of the job posting began with these words: "We are Turn 10 Studios and we need you for the next version of Forza Motorsport." Solid evidence that Turn 10 is working on the next version of Forza Motorsport, though not solid enough to prove the title is aiming for the Xbox 720.
"THE JOB
We are looking for a strong senior software engineer to own the testing of our multiplayer networking system. You'll be working directly with your counterparts in dev, design, and PM to design and build a secure, reliable and scalable multiplayer system. You will also be responsible for efficiently leveraging contingent staff to accomplish your tasks."
The posting went on to mention that the developer is seeking a "senior software engineer" whose main purpose is to help develop a scalable multiplayer system for the title, hinting at either an all new multiplayer system for Forza Motorsports 5, or an improvement on what is currently available.
Forza Motorsport is the most popular racing simulator franchise on the Xbox 360. The title's main rival is Grand Turismo for the PlayStation, and despite playing second to Sony's long running video game since its debut on the original Xbox, Forza Motorsport 4 managed to top the new Gran Turismo game with its latest outing.
