Medal of Honor: Warfighter is struggling to gain gamers' acceptance amid the many well-established titles being released later in the year. EA and Danger Close are pulling out all the stops for Medal of Honor to stay relevant after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and Halo 4. These efforts include a multiplayer beta for gamers to get acquainted with the game.
The beta will be exclusive to Xbox 360 Gold Members, leaving PS3 and PC owners to make do with Xbox 360 gamers' analysis of the title. The full game will have 72 Tier 1 operators; however, gamers will only get to unlock 12 in the beta. They offer an interesting twist in the game's multiplayer when compared to titles like Call of Duty, which could potentially be a selling point for the game.
Players will be able to operate in groups of two, called a Fireteam. Players who are a part of a Fireteam will always have sights of their Fireteam buddy on the map and be able to re-spawn on him whenever they die.
Danger Close and EA are featuring a new type of multiplayer mode in Medal of Honor: Warfighter. This mode is called HotSpot, and it is a twist on the classic "Bomb Defuse" mode found in many shooters. HotSpot is all about arming or defusing 3 of 5 bomb caches found on the map to gain victory, and this is where playing as a Fireteam will be critical to success.
Those who have played Battlefield 3 will know all about Battlelog. This is a system that shows overall stats and how a nation is doing in combat; expect it to be a part of the Medal of Honor: Warfighter beta. Beta players' stats will all go back to square one when the full game make its way to store shelves.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be released on October 23, 2012. Those who pre-order the game will be qualified for the Battlefield 4 Beta in 2013
