The upgrade brings enhancements as well as certain fixes to the EVO LTE. Sprint indicated that the update will bring Wi-Fi authentication improvements, personalized ringtones, calendar event description hyperlinks and calendar reminder improvements, and addition of Sprint Connections Optimizer.
The update will also fix Wi-Fi disconnect issue, time zone issue, Google Wallet fix, side loaded video pause issue, and random power cycling issue. Other fixes include Pioneer Bluetooth Car Kit connection issue, gallery app crash, Calendar reminder (all day even time) issue, e-mail stuck in the outbox, and the color saturation adjustment for the camera.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update also brings the updated HTC Sense 4+, HTC's user interface (UI) to the smartphone. With the updated HTC Sense 4+, users will get improved browser performance, face unlock improvement, and application improvements to YouTube, Google+, Gmail, Maps, and more.
Users will also get improved camera including Auto Portrait and Sightseeing Mode capabilities along with enhanced Gallery, with the ability to display photos and video albums according to when or where the pictures have been taken.
With the Jelly Bean update users can also get the Tap and Go function to connect the phone to select Beats Audio speakers and HTC Get Started support to allow device set up from a computer.
Sprint confirmed the software version as "3.15.651.16." The carrier also indicated that the update will be pushed out in phases.
"When checking for the update, you may receive a message that no update is available, check back later or wait until the update notification is sent to your device.," stated Sprint's official blog.
