Gearbox Software’s ‘Borderlands 2’ has received a lot of positive feedback from critics and fans alike, but that doesn’t mean that the game doesn’t have its share of problems. Per reports, the company has released a new patch which fixes certain issues with the game along with all Badass ranks, which have been lost via normal play for some reason.

The new and massive patch for the game has now gone live for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, which finally addresses an issue that left players' Badass Ranks reset. Developer Gearbox Software has promised "added functionality to detect and restore Badass Rank in the event it was lost".

“While this fix is long overdue — initial reports of this bug began to surface on October 9 — the patch also brings with it a number of other fixes, including a helpful confirmation dialogue for the Golden Chest found in Sanctuary, alterations to a number of quests that prevent them from becoming irreparably broken, and a host of changes to the game’s available DLC packs to fix any glitches players have found within them,” a Digital Trends report states.

“Added functionality to detect and restore Badass Rank in the event it was lost,” reads the official patch notes. “To ensure you are credited for as much progress as possible, please load your character, select ‘Continue’ on the Main Menu, and then ‘Save and Quit’ after you enter the world. Repeat this process for each character in your character list.”

However, with the new update now pushed out, Gearbox has finally managed to crush all of the most obtrusive technical flaws in ‘Borderlands 2.’ This fix means that fans who are still to own and play the game should have nearly no excuses as to why they shouldn’t get the game, especially when it is one of the most exciting games of the year.

Additionally, it has also been reported that the next ‘Borderlands 2’ DLC is set to be called Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt. The new information related to the DLC was first spotted by Gearbox forum members and later confirmed by Gearbox itself to Joystiq.

“Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, aside from having massive beasts and crazy guns (we assume), has three new trophies/achievements: one for completing "The Fall of Nakayama" mission, one for completing all side missions and the last for discovering all named locations in the Hunt,” the Joystiq report adds.
