Electronic Arts’ popular first-person shooter title ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’ just got better for fans. Per reports, Electronic Arts has released the Zero Dark Thirty map pack for Danger Close’s military shooter ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter.’
The pack shares the same theme as well as the release date of Academy Award winner Kathryn Bigelow’s new film of the same name 'Zero Dark Thirty' i.e. the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. The map pack is simply a multiplayer addition that adds two new areas – the Darra Gun Market and Chitral Compound – inspired by Navy Seal Team Six’s mission.
“Medal of Honor Warfighter steps into the boots of the soldiers who led the hunt for Bin Laden and takes you to the locations where only the most elite dare enter,” the official page states.
The Darra Gun Market is broadly accepted as the largest black-market weapons manufacturer in the world, home to dozens of back-alley shops and self-taught mechanists. Players will need to take arms in this manufacturing village for intense vertical combat.
The Chitral Compound, on the other hand, sets up a wreckage of a helicopter that leads the way into the Chitral Compound, one of Bin Laden’s alleged hiding outposts. Players will be free to roam the dangerous hills and navigate the unforgivable terrain to take down enemies and achieve victory.
As far as weapons are concerned, there are 6 new weapon configurations, 14 new weapon camouflage skins, and 10 new multiplayer ranks to go with the new maps.
The Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack is available at no extra cost with the Limited or Deluxe Editions of ‘Medal of Honor Warfighter,’ and to make something comes out of it for the society as well, EA is donating to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation $1 from each Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack sold up through March 19, 2014. This is being done as part of its overall Project HONOR charitable donation commitment of a minimum of $1 million.
“Project HONOR is a program created to drive charitable contributions to nonprofit veterans organizations. The pack will be available December 18 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the PlayStation Network,” a News10 report states.
The Zero Dark Thirty map pack is now available for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3.
