Fans of the award-winning 'Borderlands 2' are in for some good news as developer Gearbox Software has announced a new DLC add-on for the game -'Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt' - which will be released on Jan. 15, 2013.
"Grab your friends and get ready to head back to Pandora! 2K and Gearbox Software are thrilled to announce the third add-on campaign content pack for Borderlands 2, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, arriving January 15*," stated the Borderlands 2 blog.
'Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt' is the third DLC add-on for Borderlands 2 and revolves around Vault Hunters (aka the player) teaming up with Sir Hammerlock, the affluent monocole wearer with mechanical limbs, as they set off for Aegrus to discover and hunt down the exotic creatures in Pandora.
Even though the journey starts off as "relaxing hunting expedition" with Sir Hammerlock, it soon takes a sinister twist as players chance across a new villain who intends on "restoring the legacy of Handsome Jack."
"Irresistible new loot, memorable new quests, a variety of challenging and exotic new enemies, a new vehicle and more await players as they fight their way through the never-before-seen lands of Aegrus to give this evil-doer the old one-two!" noted the Borderlands 2 blog.
'Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt' will release on Jan. 15, 2013, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms. Season Pass holders of Borderlands 2 will be able to download the new DLC for free as soon as it's made available. However, players who do not have a Season Pass will need to shell out USD 9.99/GBP 7.99/ EUR 9.99/AUD 15.95 to purchase the content. Alternately, the DLC can be purchased for 800 Microsoft Points.
With three add-on DLC's announced for Borderlands 2, Gearbox Software just has the fourth and final one remaining. Considering, the first two DLC's 'Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty' and 'Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage' earned rave reviews, a lot of expectations would be riding on 'Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt' and hopefully, it can live up to the trend set by its predecessors.
