Grand Theft Auto 5 is still months away, but Rockstar Games turned up the heat with 10 more screenshots of the next installment.
It's no secret that the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) open world video game franchise has numerous fans worldwide, and anticipation for the next installment only rose when Rockstar Games announced the delay of GTA 5.
The developer is now teasing fans once again, with newly released screenshots and trailer touting the next installment. GTA 5 was originally due to launch sometime during the spring, but Rockstar Games announced the game will in fact arrive on Sept. 17, 2013.
A title such as GTA 5 is bound to sell out as soon as it launches, so fans of the franchise might want to pre-order the game just to make sure. GTA 5 seems to sport some notable improvements in the graphics department as well as the gameplay, and now gamers can finally play in "crews," as in Max Payne 3.
Grand Theft Auto 5 also comes with a new social hub option, allowing gamers to create their own crews either privately, with friends, or among public social circles. Gamers can gain membership in up to five crews at a time, and completing tasks as a crew will gain valuable XP points for the gamer. The next installment of GTA also sports connect play across titles such as Max Payne 3.
For the first time in the history of the franchise, GTA now features three protagonists and boasts a huge open world, even bigger in scale than that of Red Dead Redemption, GTA San Andreas and GTA 4 combined. Outside of missions, gamers can swap between the three protagonists and explore the game's open world.
The GTA 5 characters are Michael, a family man living in the Vinewood hills, professional automotive wiz Franklin and Trevor, who seems to be completely psycho. The trio is drawn into the Los Santos' criminal underworld to make some quick and illegal money, and the games begin.
Until GTA finally becomes available at various retailers on Sept. 17, check out the new screenshots and trailer (enter date of birth to view video) on Rockstar's website.
