Recently we reported that Skype has released a beta version of the popular messaging and video calling app for Windows 7 and Windows 8 desktop. This beta version of Skype brings to the table a new feature called 'Video Messaging," which allows one party to send the other a three-minute recorded video. It's nothing we haven't seen before, but it should at least keep Skype up there with the likes of WhatsApp and Viber.

If you were wondering when Microsoft would make the video messaging feature available in the Metro version of Skype for Windows 8, wonder no longer, because it is here. The update began to roll out on Friday, and should be available to everyone soon.
