Samsung's Galaxy Tab 3 lineup is ready to hit the U.S. on July 7 and the company finally announced pricing details for all models.
The new line of tablets will launch in the U.S. next month with three screen sizes - 7-, 8- and 10.1 inches - and will be available for purchase from Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Amazon, Office Depot and other brick-and-mortar retailers, as well as Samsung's online store.
The entry-level Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 has a $199 starting price and packs a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 8GB of storage with micro SD slot for additional memory, and a 7-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The slate runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Samsung's own apps and built-in hubs.
The slightly larger Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 goes up to $299 but it also gets a spec bump, packing a more powerful Exynos dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1.5GB of RAM and a TFT display with a higher 1280 x 800 resolution. This model also comes with the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and it sports a 5-megapixel rear camera capable of shooting 720p video. The 8-inch Galaxy Tab 3 also doubles the internal storage to 16GB, expandable via micro SD.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, meanwhile, is the one packing an Intel Z2560 Clover Trail+ dual-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. This model goes up to $399 and sports the same 1280 x 800 resolution as its 8-inch sibling, but stretched onto a 10.1-inch screen. The 10.1-inch tablet also matches its 8-inch counterpart in terms of storage and Android version, meaning 16GB of internal storage and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 takes several design cues from the company's current flagship, with the 7-inch and 8-inch tablets looking like oversized Galaxy S4 handsets.
All three models of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 are set to go up for pre-order starting on Tuesday, June 25, with actual sales starting on July 7. The tablets selling in the U.S. will be Wi-Fi-only, i.e. they will not have cellular support.
