Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone gets a new 32GB flavor, available for $299.99 with new two-year service agreement.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is no doubt one of the most powerful, highest-end Android smartphones currently available on the market, but the lack of a larger storage capacity was an issue for many. The smartphone has a micro SD card slot for additional memory, but internal storage is always preferred because it works faster and brings more benefits.
Up until now, AT&T was the only mobile operator in the U.S. to offer Samsung's latest flagship handset in a larger storage capacity. The carrier's 32GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 costs $249.99 with new two-year contracts. That means that Verizon's 32GB version of the smartphone is $50 more expensive. Loyal Verizon customers who don't want to leave the carrier may still be interested in the higher-capacity model, while others may want to switch to AT&T.
The Samsung Galaxy S4's micro SD card support allows for additional memory of up to 64GB, but those looking for extra on-board storage may also be interested in the upcoming 64GB version of the smartphone. That 64GB model, however, has yet to show up in carrier stores, so the 32GB model will have to do for now.
Starting on Sunday, June 30, the 32GB Samsung Galaxy S4 is available for purchase online from Verizon's website, as well as in Verizon Wireless stores. As Verizon notes in its press release announcing the higher-capacity model, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is Global Ready, which means that users can take it overseas with no trouble.
Just as a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, packs a quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM under the hood, a powerful 2,600 mAh Lithium Ion battery, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean mobile operating system with Samsung's own TouchWiz user interface on top.
Customers interested in purchasing the 32GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 from Verizon Wireless can choose between two color models: Black Mist and White Frost. Verizon promises to ship the smartphone by July 3.
