‘Fire Emblem Heroes’ Grossed Almost $3 Million In Revenue On Its First Day
Cris Xander JulianoNintendo's "Fire Emblem Heroes" has proved that it has a strong following as it grossed over $2.9 million in revenue on its very first day according to a report by Slash Gear, a game from a company that was initially reluctant to release titles for Android and iOS platforms.
The game ranks third in terms of first day sales compared to other Nintendo titles, "Super Mario Run" and "Pokemon Go" which have earned $8.4 million and $10.2 million, respectively on their first day.
In terms of first day download numbers, "Fire Emblem Heroes" also ranks third with 2 million downloads that ties with "Clash Royale" and behind 6 million downloads from "Super Mario Run" and 4.2 million for "Pokemon Go." Although, it needs to be pointed out that users need to buy the full version of "Super Mario Run" for $9.99 while "Fire Emblem Heroes" is free to play with available in-app purchases.
According to Sensor Tower, the majority of downloads and revenue for "Fire Emblem Heroes" has come from Japan which isn't surprising given the fact that fantasy role playing games are highly popular in its home country compared to the US, which ranks as the second highest country with the most downloads and revenue for the game. The game is currently ranked at number 17 in terms of revenue on the US App store.
It is interesting to see how the game will monetize in the future as true fans of the game are probably the first ones that downloaded the same and are more willing to spend more money than the rest.
Stay tuned for more updates.
