Samsung took the wraps off the 2017 iterations of the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A7 smartphones on Monday, March 6. The recently launched mid-range Galaxy A-series models will oust last year's variants of the Galaxy A-series.

Following in the footsteps of its precursors, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) will be offering flagship type experience that is second to none, but without burning a hole in consumers' pockets. Housed in all-glass and metal frame, the smartphones are also IP68 certified which makes them ideal devices, especially at their respective price points.

Moreover, the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) smartphones boast a new and probably improved version of TouchWiz aside from ample megapixels in the camera department, but that's not all. The new smartphones also feature Samsung Pay, according to IndiaToday.

Processor: Both the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) will pack a 1.9GHz Exynos 7880 (8-core ARM Cortex-A53) processor coupled with Mali-T830MP3 GPU. Equipped with state-of-the-art 14nm FinFET process technology, Exynos 7880 utilizes up to a considerable 36 percent less power than its precursor built on 28nm HKMG process at exactly the same performance level, according to Samsung. Thus the focus is primarily on bringing about greater thermal efficiency as well as on achieving longer battery life.

Battery: The A5 (2017) packs a 3,000mAh battery, while the A7 (2017) phones come with a larger 3,600mAh battery. Both the devices support fast charging, according to Gadgets360.

The cost-effective phones have been designed from scratch to offer a flagship Galaxy S7-type experience including the IP68 certification which implies the devices are dust and water-resistant. In addition, both the phones boast Samsung's distinctive Always-on display.

In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) smartphones include 4G LTE, NFC, dual-SIM and USB Type-C port to expedite charging and data syncing.

How To Buy: Both the phones will be up for grabs from March 15, with pre-orders kicking off Monday via Samsung's online store and through offline retailers. The A5 and A7 (2017) smartphones will hit the store shelves in Black Sky and Gold Sand color options.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) And Galaxy A7 (2017) India Price: The Galaxy A5 (2017) will cost INR 28,990, which converts to about $435. The Galaxy A7 (2017), on the other hand, has been priced at INR 33,490 ($502).
